It certainly isn't urgent, but some time we may have to clean up the forum, some of the old threads never get looked at any more and they are just cluttering up the place. If not deleting them, perhaps moving them to an archive if they deserve it?
Just a thought.

Might be getting an entirely new forum, so cleaning is low on the list. However, it IS on the list. Will make the decision when the website is done.

The Announcement section could certainly do with a clear up at the very least.

80-90% of our Members Book Discussion Threads have disappeared.

Yeah, they were old, but the main point in this forum when it was first opened was so that Authors could advertise their bebo work. Deleting the comments now simply because they're old seems to defeat the purpose of the forum a bit.
It was only the Announcements section that I felt needed a clear up. Some of the notices were so old that they were irrelevant and on some boards the Announcements outnumbered the actual threads. You could have just deleted them manually with far less collateral damage.

Why does anyone care about post count... it doesn't mean anything really. Did it actually effect anybody's post count?

Given that mine was one of those 'cleansed', I'm gonna grumble a bit. The member's book discussion is a good place to quietly browse and see what people are working on.
However, if we are getting a new forum, perhaps it doesn't make much difference at the moment. Knew members joining up now will see a lot less on the forum right now though, and considering how long we've been up and running, that does seem a little odd. Just my thoughts...

Yeah, mine are all gone too. As Andy said, the Members' Book Discussion board was maybe a bit of a misnomer. It was used more for browsing rather than actual discussion and you pretty much wiped more than half the catalogue.
Perhaps with the new forum we should just name it Members' Books.

Ok, will do. Apologies all around, however nothing I can do about it now. I made a mistake, and i'm genuinely sorry... will remember not to press that button in the future...
